True or False…
Security software only detects viruses, spyware and worms after they have invaded the computer.
False
Security
software uses two strategies to protect your home computer. One way
is to identify and block threats. It does this by analyzing the code
of all materials that try to enter your computer. In this case, if
the software recognizes the code as dangerous -- or if it has the
characteristics of something dangerous -- then it is ousted.
The
other strategy is to scan your computer for any threats that might
have slipped past the first level of defense and gained entry. This
malicious material is marked for removal or quarantined so it cannot
cause damage.
It is so
important to keep your subscription current. Each hour of every day,
the list of known threats grows exponentially. And as that list
expands, so expands your security software’s ability to sift out
and block all the latest dangerous material.
Next Myth About Security
Security software works just like other software on my computer. I don't need a subscription to make it work.
