At what age is it OK for my child to go online alone?

Most Internet safety experts seem to agree that kids and teens should never have complete unfettered access to the web. For example, it's often recommended that the family computer be placed in a common room in your home so parents can keep tabs on a child's Internet surfing and chatting activities. In general, it's wise to treat the Internet as you would any other public space your children could access and set proper boundaries to protect them.
